The parties did not disclose the financial terms.

Vitamix was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Chapecó in the state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil, where a large part of the animal production in the country is concentrated.

In addition, the company has a premix and mineral plant in Naranjal, Paraguay.

The company, which produces vitamin and mineral blends, as well as specialty blends and feed additives for pigs, cattle and poultry, supplies customers throughout Brazil and Paraguay.

It employs 100 people in Brazil and Paraguay and reported sales of around 130m DKK (US$18.9m) in 2022.

CEO of Vilomix, Peter Iversen, said the acquisition fits with the company’s plans for global reach, and that the deal should eventually give the Danish firm greater access to the rest of the Latin American market.

He said the clear synergies between Vitamix and Vilomix should feed into higher sales of additives and customized premix solutions. “At the same time, we believe that our strength and expertise in genetics in Denmark can help strengthen Vitamix's position in both Brazil and Paraguay.”

Enio Feiber Sônego, one of the founders of Vitamix, and its current CEO, will remain in that role. He also retains 25% of the company's shares.
