When I first laid eyes on the RuggedSplit 737-30-RE Log Splitter, priced at $4,764.00, I knew it was a machine not to be taken lightly. As someone who often deals with large-scale wood splitting, I needed a splitter that could keep up with my demands, and this model from the RuggedSplit 700 Series appeared up to the task.
The assembly of the RuggedSplit 737-30-RE was a journey that was both intricate and deeply rewarding. Spanning approximately 10 hours, the process wasn’t just about putting parts together; it was an educational deep dive into the machine’s inner workings. Following the YouTube video instructions required patience and meticulous attention, transforming the assembly into a hands-on learning experience. This was far from a simple ‘plug-and-play’ setup; it was more akin to solving a complex mechanical puzzle. Duplexer In Microwave
This detailed assembly process proved to be quite beneficial. It allowed me to gain an intimate familiarity with each component of the splitter, an understanding that would be invaluable for future maintenance or troubleshooting. While the time investment and the necessity to carefully follow the video might be challenging for some, for those who value a comprehensive understanding of their equipment, this experience was enlightening and empowering.
Upon completion, the RuggedSplit 737-30-RE stood before me as a testament to robust engineering and heavy-duty build quality. Its solid construction clearly prioritized durability and longevity, instilling confidence in its ability to withstand demanding tasks.
The centerpiece of this machine, the Raven 420cc engine, emerged as the star of the show. Renowned for its potent combination of power and reliability, the engine lived up to its reputation, promising resilient and unyielding performance for heavy-duty log splitting. The dual nature of the starting mechanisms – electric and pull start – was a thoughtful addition. The electric start provided quick and easy operation, ideal for getting started without hassle, while the pull start option served as a dependable backup for any scenario where the electric start wasn’t an option.

Engaging the RuggedSplit in action, the first thing that struck me was the sheer power of its 37-ton ram force. This formidable force was not just a number on paper; it translated into a real-world capability to handle the large, challenging logs I frequently encounter. The knottiest, most stubborn logs were no match for this machine.
The 30-inch cylinder stroke, enhanced by a variable stroke restrictor, allowed me to tailor the splitter’s operation to various log sizes. This adaptability was more than just a convenient feature; it was a pivotal aspect that elevated my wood-splitting efficiency. Whether dealing with shorter firewood or longer timber pieces, the machine adjusted seamlessly to my needs.
But the real game-changer was the inclusion of both 2-way and 4-way blades. This dual-blade setup transformed the splitter into a versatile tool, capable of tackling different types of splitting tasks with ease. Whether I needed to split logs into halves or quarters, the blades were up to the task, significantly broadening the splitter’s utility.
Moreover, the log lift and catcher tray were nothing short of a revelation. These features substantially reduced the physical strain typically associated with log splitting. No longer did I have to manually lift and position each heavy log, which made the process not only more efficient but also markedly safer. The physical toll of splitting wood was greatly minimized, allowing me to focus more on the task and less on the labor.
When it comes to transporting the RuggedSplit, one might assume that its hefty weight of 965 lbs would be a hindrance. However, I found that moving this log splitter was surprisingly manageable. The 12″ wheels glide smoothly, lending an unexpected lightness to its movement. The 2″ trailer hitch coupler is a well-thought-out feature that makes hitching and towing the splitter across various terrains and sites a breeze. Whether moving it across my property or to a different location, the process was straightforward and hassle-free.
That being said, its substantial size does call for a considerable storage area. In my experience, while this isn’t a major setback, it is an important consideration for potential users. Ensuring you have adequate space to house this robust machine is crucial, especially if you’re limited on storage options.
Working with the RuggedSplit truly changed my perspective on efficiency in log splitting. The 13-second cycle time was a standout feature that significantly enhanced my productivity. In my line of work, where time is of the essence, being able to process a large volume of logs quickly is invaluable. This rapid cycle time meant that I could accomplish more in a shorter period, a factor that has greatly streamlined my workflow.
The hydraulic system of the RuggedSplit, featuring a 22 GPM pump and a 12-gallon capacity, functioned with impressive smoothness and consistency. The reliability of this system was a key factor in the splitter’s overall performance, ensuring uninterrupted operation during extensive use. Maintaining the hydraulic fluid at the right levels, whether opting for AW-32 or AW-46, was straightforward. This ease of maintenance further contributed to the splitter’s user-friendliness, allowing me to keep it in top condition with minimal effort.
Overall, the RuggedSplit 737-30-RE Log Splitter not only met but exceeded my expectations in terms of mobility, ease of use, and working efficiency. It stands as a testament to what a well-designed, powerful log splitter can achieve, transforming what is typically a labor-intensive task into a more manageable, even enjoyable, process.
My experience with the RuggedSplit 737-30-RE Log Splitter has been nothing short of extraordinary. This machine isn’t just a tool; it’s a powerhouse that has transformed the way I approach wood splitting. Each feature, from its powerful performance to its user-friendly design, is crafted to provide an unparalleled experience.
Yes, its size, weight, and cost are factors to be considered, but for the sheer performance and durability it brings to the table, I view it as a worthwhile investment. For anyone in need of a reliable, high-performance log splitter capable of handling intense workloads with ease, the RuggedSplit 737-30-RE stands out as an exceptional choice. It has not only met my expectations but has consistently exceeded them, proving to be an invaluable asset in my wood splitting tasks.

It says 1 of the cons is its priced at over $3100. It would be a bargain at that price. As stated in beginning it is $4764. I do believe the were they were $ 30-someting. They do seem to be a great machine for the money
I agree with the positive reviews Bought the same machine in November. It is terrific. I did do a couple/three enhancements. First was a wheeled dolly leg made moving unit around much easier. Second I stabilized the catch tray/slide. Third I made slide tray a bit taller and brought I back closer to splitter blade. This kept more pieces on the tray and stopped them from falling prematurely to the ground. I operate from an elevated position so that wood falls right into collection bins.
