Construction worker dies after large steel pipe hits him in the head | WOAI

SAN ANTONIO – A construction worker is now dead after a large steel pipe hit him in the head when he was unloading them off an 18-wheeler at a westside construction site.

The incident happened at the 12100 block of W Military Drive at around 12 p.m. Wholesale Rebar

According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the construction workers were unloading large steel pipes off an 18-wheeler so that they can work on the drainage system on the side of the roadway. One of the pipes became unsteady and fell on the head of one of the construction workers.

The 52-year-old man was dead at the scene. Another worker was injured and was transported to University Hospital.

BSCO says that OSHA was notified and will be investigating the scene.
