On occasion, it is necessary to string electric fence over a hard surface to contain livestock (e.g., frozen fields, concrete feeding floors, gravel and paved driveways, and roadways). I found using portable buckets about a third full of concrete that encases rods for the wire insulators works extremely well. Plus the buckets can be laid down and the wire easily driven over by a vehicle, then set back up to continue doing its job.
