VA provides care to Veterans through community providers when VA cannot provide the care needed. Community care is based on specific eligibility requirements, availability of VA care, and the needs and circumstances of individual Veterans.

Veterans can apply for VA health care by visiting the Admissions Office, which is located in the lobby of Building 361. The Admissions Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information about VA health care eligibility or how to enroll for VA health care, call 877-222-8387 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The VA Maryland Health Care System operates a Veterans Museum that is located in the historic Grist Mill on the campus of the Perry Point VA Medical Center. The Grist Mill, which was built around 1750 on the shores of the Susquehanna River, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the oldest known structures in the entire VA system.

The Volunteer Transportation Programs utilizes VA volunteers to provide transportation for Veteran patients to and from their homes to scheduled appointments at the Perry Point VA Medical Center between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
